I have a relatively simple gridview bound to an product table that displays great. When I do so, the gridviews' Row Data Bound event fires and the values of the text properties of the tablecells in the row evaluate to "" emptystring.

Text properties of the cells resolve to "" Here is the code for the event, followed by the gridview in the form (inside an updatepanel) Protected Sub Grid View1_Row Data Bound(By Val sender As Object, By Val e As System.

NET 2.0 app that is running under sharepoint 2000 (yes the old sharepoint) in IIS.

Because of this, session state and view state are disabled.

In the template field I will Place a label or some controls, So that it’s very easy to access those controls in the code behind by using Find Control method. Item Template is the content to display for the items in the Template Field.

Suppose if we are trying to hide primary key of our table, there is actually no need to hide. In the above Snippet you are seeing a label in Item Template that means whenever we are showing Grid View to the user Label will be visible to the user.

If he clicks edit (or) in the edit mode he can be able to see the Textbox.

Hi Gurus , It happened to add an extra Gridveiw Header in row_databound event , It did worked fine on ! Can any expert post some pointers , differnces between grid row_created vs row_databount with some sample table data created dynamically behaviour of both the events in ! But again, when I hit the "Edit" button in the first column (the Command Field column) .

Quick google search guided me to move the event to Row_Created event and every thing is okay . Thanks a tonne in Advance and any inputs will be valued and appreciated . I do notice that if I break within the Grid View1_Row Data Bound event during a refresh of the page, the values are there.
